The Great Lakes Resource Sharing Conference Planning Committee is excited to offer four internship opportunities to library science students in 2018. The number of internships available is dependent on the generosity of our sponsors.
Benefits of the internship include:
an invitation to attend virtual planning meetings in the months leading up to the conference
complementary registration for the 2018 Great Lakes Resource Sharing Conference
travel support of up to $250
the opportunity to publish in Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Electronic Reserve
Requirements of the internship include:
attendance at one virtual meeting prior to the conference to discuss onsite responsibilities
fulfillment of onsite responsibilities, including staffing the registration desk, serving as technical assistants for breakout sessions, and posting on social media, as assigned
writing and submission of a written report of their experience for publication in the proceedings issue of the Journal of Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery & Electronic Reserve by mid-July 2018.
Any student enrolled in a library science graduate program or a library technical assistant program is eligible to apply for a GLRSC internship. An application should include:
complete contact information for the applicant
the name of the program in which you are enrolled
a brief essay (300 words or less) describing why you want to be a GLRSC intern and what you hope to gain from the experience
Submit your application as a single PDF with the email subject GLRSC Internship to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 23, 2018.
Selected interns will be notified by March 15, 2018, and will be asked to provide a biographical sketch and photograph for the GLRSC website and a travel budget.
